Circuit Protection and Fuse

Circuit protection is the intentional installation of a “weak link” in an electrical circuit. This is a fuse or circuit breaker, referred to here as a circuit protection device or CPD.A circuit protection device automatically prevents dangerous or excess amounts of temperature, excessive amounts of current or a short circuit in an electrical conductor. It limits the amount of energy that is liberated in the event of electrical failure.
